V250 is a compact version of the legendary Sontec MEP-250, with 1 channel & 4 bands, plus shelving option on air and sub bands. We brought that effective, precise, natural, and transparent EQ fashion to an adorable interface, so that everyone can give it a try.

In many cases, we didn't realise a sound could be better until V250 is on. We use 2 V250 units in our commercial studio to handle additional clean-ups beyond the HVC250 (which is our full version of Sontec revive). It is capable of giving clarity to acoustic and vocals, helping reach their full potential without sounding engineered.

The compact EQ you can count on

When downsizing a classic design, it makes more sense to us to prioritise the sound than to create look-alikes. We needed more room to inherit the sonic performance of Sontec, so one band was gotten rid of. We also eliminated the Q controls on the air and sub, considering that most people solely use them for the high & low stuff.

In real-life, we find it sufficient controls. If any, it is the incredibleness that Sontec sound could come in a small package as such.

Handcrafted & verified by human, for human.

Before it gets shipped, 2 real mixing engineers will test it and sign their names, so will every craftsman who participated in the making. Boutique-grade craftsmanship makes no effort in producing many.

It's a "Zen"

"Zen" as opposed to "Hit" is our sonic design philosophy for those on the clean side. It is a nourishing vibe that is juicy and satisfying to all ears.

We need more like this

To be frank, this is an affordable build from a boutique level brand, which you wouldn't usually find promising. It surprised me that I have no problem paying a couple more hundreds for its quality - sonically and physically. The results are pretty good if you know what you are doing. It has a specialty in acoustic instruments and I like how real and crystal clear it sounds. The full metal panel and knobs feel great, too. (I got a white pair)

Best at this price

The price can be a bit misleading. It almost tricks you into thinking it's just a slightly better budget EQ, but in fact, it's a fairly-priced high-end EQ.

Rivals SSL

I was aware of its similarity with the SSL 611EQ but was just exploring some alternatives.
Z&H's official demo was well-made so I am not going to bother explaining how it works on each instrument. Let's say it does a great job on acoustic, strings, vocals, and pianos. I use it often to bring a subject up, or add some shiny details. The absence of analog harmonics doesn't mean it isn't interesting. It is clear in an intriguing way.
The craftsmanship is as good as it can get, unless you are used to modules that are worth a grand.

Great for stereo

Ordered a pair for piano specifically. I wanted a HI-FI EQ solution for my stereo sources.
Cleaning up is my primary goal with V250. It does an incredible job on muddy recordings and brings the track to life.
I would prefer to have Q controls on HF and LF, as there are better alternatives than 500 series for mix shelving.
