Voltage & Safety

Safe long-term operation starts here

Review power requirements, grounding basics, ventilation, and handling guidance before extended studio use.

Power Basics

Confirm The Power Context

Before first power-up, confirm what the product page or manual says about mains operation for your unit and region.

Power and Grounding

Use stable power, maintain proper grounding through the chain, and avoid treating hum or grounding doubt as a normal studio compromise.

Ventilation

Allow adequate airflow around rack-mounted equipment, especially when several heat-producing units share the same rack space.

Before First Use

Check the reversible things before you leave the unit powered up

Rack and Airflow

Make sure the unit is physically secure, not pinched by cables, and not sitting in a part of the rack that traps unnecessary heat.

Signal Chain

Check the intended inputs, outputs, insert direction, and any stereo-link or dual-mono assumptions before troubleshooting imagined faults.

Mic and Phantom Context

When working with mic preamps, confirm whether phantom is actually needed and stay cautious around ribbon microphone workflows.

Handling and Transport

Protect Controls

Protect knobs, switches, meters, and connectors when moving the unit between rooms, racks, or studios.

Use Real Packaging

Whenever possible, use secure packing that protects the chassis and front panel rather than loose wrapping alone.

Stop When In Doubt

If the issue becomes about heat, unusual smell, unstable power behavior, or uncertain grounding, stop and move to Support before continuing normal use.
